One More River
Last updated: 22.01.22
This One More Riveris a song that Peter Warlock arranged from The Week-End Book (1924), the words and tune being attributed to good old Anon. The arrangement can be found in The Choral music of Peter Warlock Vol. 1.
It humoursly lists the animals, two-by-two etc. up six-by-six, entering the Arch before the door was closed and it started to rain. The animals listed are the centipede, the kangaroo, the elephant on the back of a flea. a camel that got stuck in the door, my favourite, The Missing Link who was the last to arrive and fiannly a monkey up to his tricks.
Jolly stuff indeed and greatly enjoyed by Dr. Rosteck and myself.
