"Whiskey in the Jar" along with The Wild Rover are both, of course, extremely well known and are ever popular in Germany. The version I sing is one that I learned from Brian Kelly when with the Idle Fellows. He used to do it fairly short and always left out the verse about "a brother in the British army" sometimes to the disgust of the purists. It's a fine song for clapping and foot-stamping and I love belting out "Musha rigum da rum da, whack fal the daddy-oh" (whatever that might mean!).
