O Willie Brewed a Peck o' Maut
Last updated: 19.04.22
The words to O Willie Brewed A Peck O' Maut were penned by none less than the Scottish National poet, Robert Burns (1759-1796) and the melody composed by one Allan Masterton. The piece was especially written to "warm" Mr William Nichol's, Willie himself, new house in Nithsdale (Srath Nid in Scottish Gaelic), on the Scottish/English border. It is a most charming piece telling of an all-night drinking session undertaken by three very good friends swearing that they were not very drunk:
We are nae fou', we're nae fou', but just a wee drop in our e'e!
The version I sing together with Dr. Rosteck is an amalgam derived from The New Scottish Songbook and Daily Express Community Song Book.

The version is included in We're Only Here For The Beer! - Light by Dr Rosteck and myself.
