Boston
Last updated: 22.01.22
I first got interested in "Boston" whilst browsing through The Book of Navy Songs (Trident Society 1955) and looking for something to play on my concertina on New Year's Day in 1992. The lyrics I sing are however taken from W.B. Whall's Sea Songs Ships and Shanties (1912).
It's a very fine song about storms, wicked captains and a hint of mutiny if the crew do not get their grog. This song may be found in the Tyneside Maritime Chorus songbook
