Blow the Candles Out
Last updated: 22.01.22
"Blow the Candles Out" is yet another song that I first heard from Brian Kelly, a fellow member of Idle Fellows, and I do not know where he got it from. His lyrics start off "When I sailed into Portland town ....." and the melody is surprisingly melancholic at odds with lyrics which concern a seaman giving up the miseries of a maritime occupation for the delights of wedded bliss and raising a family.
I sing it rarely myself but it's a fine song enough.
