One authority, on the basis of the cover of the original sheet music suggests, that this composition celebrates the Chevy Chase Country Club near Washington, D.C. which is not from Blakes place-of-birth, Baltimore. This amazing fox-trot is a long involved affair in AABBACCADD form with a 4-bar introduction and 4-bar interludes between the A and CC strains as well as between the A and DD strains. Both the C and D strains are of 32-bars. The C strain is given an opening repeat sign only in the original sheet music, the lack of closing sign has been remedied in this adaptation for recorder, a presumption of this editor. It should be borne in mind that this piece is a dance (perhaps borne out by the inset profile of one Betty Bond shown on the cover) and that the stop-time effects and breaks should be given their full-measure.

A tempo of 150 crotchets/min. is suggested.
