According to the Internet source given below, Elise Stevenson (née Eliza Stevens ) was an English-American soprano singer born in Liverpool. After emigration to the United States, she was a member of the Lyric Quartet .[Harry Macdonough, her manager Frank C. Stanley, Corrine Morgan] and the Trinity Choir remaining active until 1911. Amongst herr most successful recordings were The Linger Longer Girl (1906) music by Alfred Solman, words by Arthur J. Lamb and Because You're You (1906) music by Victor Herbert, words by Henry Blossom and published by M. Witmark and Sons, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, USA. In addition to the pseudonyms of Margaret Mayew and Miss Walton, she sometimes used the stage name Elsie/Elise Wood after her marriage in 1905. During her career she made some 219 recordings.
She died in Laguna Beach, California..
