Daniels wrote Nadja using the pseudonym Neil Moret. It is a composition reeking with oriental clichés perfectly illustrated and in accord with the exotic dancer in a highly dramatic pose shown on the cover of the original sheet music. It is written in the form of AABBACCABA with a 6-bar introduction and a 9-bar coda whereby the AB- and C-strains are in the major keys of Bb and G respectively. Highly entertaining and a great piece for a recorder sextet where the melodies are shared by all voices - even the basses have their say.
Nadja was published by Charles N. Daniels Music Publisher, San Francisco, California, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
