According to the Internet source given below, Glenn Shannon grew up near Buffalo, NY,where he first encountered a recorder in the third grade. His musical training was at at Cornell University (class of '88) where hes studied Johann Sebastian Bach and began composing by emulating his style. As a composer of recorder music, he has developed his own style and enjoys breaking rules.
He has been involved with the East Bay Recorder Society as president and keeper of the chapter music library.
