p_montgomeryb.jpgAll that can presently (November 2023) be gleaned about Billy Montgomery [Billie] from sheet music covers and by Internet searching is that he was presumably an American actor/songwriter who has been featured on 5 works published between 1911 and 1914.
His portrait on the left is taken from I'm a Long Way From Tipperary (1914) music by Ernie Erdman, words by Roger Lewis and published by Will Rossiter, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Here he is shown together with partner Florence Moore.
He is also credited as the the one-off composer of The Story Book Ball (1917), co-author George Perry also published by Will Rossiter.
Surfers are welcome to contribute any further information about this performer/songwriter.
