Walter Paul "Woody" English was an American tuba player and band composer born in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory .
Growing up in Dallas, Texas he played tuba in a number of circus and concert bands. English is known primarily for his band compositions, most of which were published by C. L. Barnhouse Company, Oskaloosa, Iowa, USA. Of ragtime interest is Instantaneous Rag (1915) published by J.W. Jenkins' Sons Music Co., Kansas City, Missouri, USA.
He died in Denver, Colorado.
