Carleton L. Colby

Despite the half-dozen or so compositions, many of them rags, written by Carleton L. Colby very little is known about the person himself. He was presumably American and composed between 1913 and 1920. His final works included Good-Bye Rag (1920) and Good-Bye Blues (1920) perhaps announcing his departure from composition or his belief that the ragtime era was coming to a close or even both.
