Purchasing information Notice for leaders/bass players
Antoinette is a straightforward 6/8 march with hardly a whiff of ragtime in it. Some authorities say that it could have been written much earlier. The bass player will enjoy the delightful runs over the full range of his or her instrument while all players have fun with the harmonies in the third melody. It was, in Joplin's words, "Respectfully dedicated to Marie Antoinette Williams".
Antoinette was published by Stark Music Co, St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
A tempo of 120 crotchets/min. is suggested.
There is also a quintet version of this item.
