Daniels wrote Mary using the pseudonym Neil Moret. A gentle, graceful and pleasing march two step, it is written in the form of AABBACCDCCDCC with a 6-bar introduction, 4-bar interludes between the BA- and AC-strains and a 2-bar coda using the major keys of G, F, C and Bb. The cover of the original sheet music shows the lady herself who coincidentally bears a striking resemblance to my own same-named little sister.
Mary was published by Jerome H. Remick & Co., New York & Detroit, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
