According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Pietro Antonio Locatelli was an Italian violinist and composer, pupil of Arcangelo Corelli in Rome, settled in Amsterdam and died there. Works include sonatas, studies and other works for violin; also trios, works of "concerto grosso" type, etc.
