Length: approx. 3¼ mins. Sounds best with the 1st tenor doubled.
Lilac Blossoms is a light-hearted two step in AABBACCB form with a 4-bar introduction whereby the AABBA and the CCB strains are in the keys of C and F respectively. Wenrich dedicated this piece to a certain Mrs. E. B. Davis, perhaps the charming lady shown on the cover of the original sheet music amidst a sea of blooming lilacs. It is a pleasant and amusing task to compare this work with another Wenrich floral contribution written two years earlier namely Dixie Blossoms (1906).
Lilac Blossoms was published by Brehm Bros, Erie, Pennsylvania, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
There is also a tenor solo version of this item.
