This recorder adaptation of
The Bounding Buck, a late Lodge Rag Dance Foxtrot (bets were clearly being covered here!), is a tenor player's delight whereby the tenor in particular has the honour of having the melody from start to finish. The composition has a AABBACA form in the major keys of Eb and Ab; the strains being beautifully soft and gentle, almost melancholic summoning up the woodland setting shown on the front cover of the original sheet music through which a buck may gracefully bound.
The Bounding Buck was published by
M. Witmark and Sons, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, USA.
A tempo of 120 crotchets/min. is suggested
There are also
