I was introduced to this book by Stephan Schrader at a wonderful weekend seminar mentioned in the anecdote to The Recorder Consort.
As Stephan demonstrated, this work primarily intended for two choirs can be readily be performed by a double recorder ensemble to no disadvantage, especially when as in this case it was played by some 30 players. As a folk-singer, I also found a great deal of satisfaction with the lyrics and its charmingly quaint language e.g. ... wenn du mir mein Schatz zu Theil möchst werden, kein grösser Freud hett ich auff diser Erden ...
A notable performance of the piece Domibne Deus, as a bass player and member of the Diepholz Ensemble, was given at the Kreismusikschule Diepholz on 8th September 2001.
