Length: approx. 2¾ mins.
Watermelon Whispers is a fine syncopated fox trot in AABBCC form with a 4-bar introduction and a 4-bar interlude between the BB- and CC-strains. The melodic line is for the greater part handled by the descant but surrenders the reins for the interlude and the first C-strain. The tasteful cover of the original sheet music shows a pair of happy Piccaninnies perhaps whispering to each other whilst consuming watermelon slices almost as large as themselves. Just the stuff for a hot summer's day!
Watermelon Whispers was published by Ted Browne Music Co., Chicago, Illinois, USA.
