Length: approx. 2 mins. Sounds best with the bass doubled.
The cover of the original sheet music shows a mortarboard-headed pipe-smoking student and proclaims that College Life was dedicated to the College Students of America. It is a bright and breezy affair jaogging along in 6/8 time. Its form is AAABCC with a 4-bar introduction and a 12-bar interlude separating the CC-strains whereby the AB- and C-strains are written in the major keys of F and Bb respectively. The 1st C-strain has the following text by Jack Drislane:
Bring back the days of the golden past, Those good old college days
The days we never knew care or strife, Rah! Rah!
Bring back the friends that we used to know, Who've drifted to diff'rent ways,
How we long again for dear old college life.
A tempo of 180 crotchets/min. is suggested.
