Length: approx. 2¼ mins.
Old Virginia Rag is a minor masterpiece in ABCD form, each section being of 16 bars, with a 4-bar introduction and a 4-bar passage between the B and C sections. Each strain is a little gem, flowing and melodious. The work is scored without repeats - an oversight?. Whatever, any or all of the sections are more than worth repeating. One may be assured that Clyde Douglass himself would not mind!
As a recorder adaptation, this sonorous tenor/bass affair gives Old Virginia Rag a new charm and beauty.
