The Georgia Cracker, a most charming young lady as shown on the cover of the original sheet music, may well have been herself as she is said to have been a very pretty redhead. This happy composition is written in ABCCA form with a whereby the AB- and C-strains are written in the keys of F and Bb respectively. The C-strain contrasts nicely with bright and chirpy AB-strains. In this adaptation the melodies are shared between the descant and 1st tenor. Another great fun piece and indeed may it be said that it would be a cracking contribution to a programme dedicated to lady ragtimers!
The Georgia Cracker was published by C.C. Cocroft Music Co., Thomasville, Georgia, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
