Length: approx. 2 ½ mins.
It is not known whether the composer really had a circular saw, such as shown on the cover of the original sheet music, in mind when she wrote Buzzer Rag but nonetheless it certainly buzzes and sizzles along - a piece to bring smoking red-hot fingers even when performed "not slow" as required. The descant has a great time of it whilst the treble and tenor have to tongue meticulously to obtain the desired result. A fine rag and a great composition!
A tempo of 90 crotchets/min. is suggested.
Buzzer Rag was published by J.H. Aufderheide & Co., Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
There are also sextet and descant solo versions of this item.
