p_rochesterc.jpgAccording to the Internet source given below, Claire Rochester was an American vaudeville performer born in Atlanta, Georgia.
She studied at the Boston Conservatory of Music and starred in Lew Fields production of All Aboard which drew the attention of vaudeville promoters.
From 1916 she made several Broadway appearances. An activist in the WW I Liberty Bond movement and motorist, she drove from New York City to San Francisco in 1917 on a fund-raising tour.
She died in Memphis, Tennessee aged 27.
Of vaudeville interest is Along Came Ruth (1914) words & by music by Irving Berlin, published by Waterson, Berlin & Snyder Co., New York, USA and introduced by Rochester. The sheet music front cover of shows her portrait.
