Raised in Paris, Illinois and in Indianapolis, Indiana, she studied voice with Tecla Vigna at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
Bertram sang in comic opera, on Broadway, appeared in two films as well as in vaudeville shows.
She died in Los Angeles, California.
