Elisabeth Schwanda was born in Karlsruhe and studied recorder at the "Hochschule für Musik und Theater", Hanover with Ulrich Thieme and Siri Rovatkay-Sohns. She completed her studies in 1992 and attended master classes with Walter van Hauwe, Amsterdam and Matthias Weilenmann, Zurich.
She is the co-founder of Affetti Musicali Hannover and has performed with many chamber ensembles as soloist. Elisabeth Schwanda conducts courses and has been professor at the "Hochschule für Kirchenmusik", Herford since 2000.
