Wild Cherries is probably Snyder's best-known rag loved and played by ragtimers and men of brass alike. It delights with its stops and other devices - a performers' piece. David A. Jasen writing in his Ragtime Rediscoveries said that this rag was so popular and for so long than some forty years after its composition, comedian Jimmy Durante remembered vividly how he played it in Coney Island resorts for several years. Here in Germany that world-class brass ensemble Harmonic Brass Munich have recorded it and figures highly in their repertoire. This transcription for recorder quintet is long overdue!
Wild Cherries was published by Ted Snyder Music Co., New York, USA.
A tempo of 80 crotchets/min. is suggested.
