According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Willy Burkhard was a Swiss composer (also pianist and conductor); pupil of Karg-Ehlert and somewhat influenced by Paul Hindemith. Works include "The vision of Isaiah", and other Protestant oratorios; 3 symphonies; Toccata for 4 wind instruments with percussion and strings; Mass opera "The Black Spider".
