The English Dancing Master has been most useful to our theater company in staging
authentic ancient dance. The single line of melody in standard music notation is easy for
musicians to use. The dance instructions are clear and make it easy for a small group to
learn the dance. The dances are beautiful, and there is a wide variety of styles and
partnering.
