I had never heard or heard of "Wer geht mit, juche, über See" until coming across it in Die Seemannskiste Volume 2 whilst looking for some German sea songs for Ernst Richter. The lyrics are imbecile to say the least (and that's doing imbeciles an injustice but the melody is just great for accordion (Ernst's instrument) and concertina. Dear surfer, can you imagine a German seaman singing "Wer geht mit, juche, über See". I don't believe a word of it.
