The Golden Jubilee
Last updated: 11.10.23
I came across "The Golden Jubilee" in Soodlum's 100 Irish Ballads Volume 1 and have not ever heard of it before. I have also found nothing in the Internet so it must be a pretty rare song.
It's a light-hearted ditty about an old couple getting dressed up in honour of their 50 years of marriage. How many people can say, as Kate and Pat the heroes of the song do,
"Of good friends we've had many, of troubles we've had few"
