Ferry me across the water
Last updated: 11.10.23
This is a very short little ditty about using a ferry which can be found in Peggy Grainger's A Mum's (Mostly Musical) Memories. As a small child it was very evocative of a very rare treat namely that of using the "Dog and Duck" ferry on the River Severn at Worcester located on the Pitchcroft race course. This was high adventure indeed!

Ferry me across the water, do boatman do-oo
If you've a penny in your purse, I'll ferry you-oo
I have a penny in my purse and my eyes are blue-oo
So ferry me across the water, do boatman do.
