Tingle Tangle is a bright, cheerful and tuneful fox-trot which simply begs to be danced to. The cover of the original sheet music shows a pretty tutu-clad dancer leading a pair of foxes with silken reins. As to the fox-trot itself, its form is AABACA with an 4-bar introduction and an 8-bar interlude between the C- and final A-strain whereby the AB- and C-strains are written in the major keys of Bb and Eb respectively. In this adaptation for recorder quintet, the 1st tenor has a field day having the melodies from start to finish whilst the 2nd tenor enjoys long passages of close harmony. A pleasant piece guaranteed to please!
Tingle Tangle was published by Harry von Tilzer Music Pub. Co., New York, USA.
A tempo of 150 crotchets/min. is suggested.
