"Hoosier Rag" is one of five works which I purchased for use with the Bremen Recorder Touring Company in 2000. According to the ARCADIAN PRESS notes, the Hoosier Rag was published by Jerome H. Remick and Co. Then, the largest publisher of popular music in the uSA. It is noted that "Hoosier", reminiscent of Scott Joplin's "Weeping Willow" is slow in tempo, narrow in dynamic range, even-flowing melodically, and quiet in mood. The form "Hoosier rag" is: AA B A CC B.
We have yet to play it, please watch this space for further commentary!
