This is what Mills himself had to say about
At a Georgia Campmeeting:
"This March was not intended to be a part of the Religious Exercises 'At a Georgia Campmeeting __' but when the young folks got together they felt as if they needed some amusement. A Cake Walk was suggested, and held in a quiet place near by __ hence this Music".
This march, despite plenty of syncopation, is relatively straightforward and should make no difficulties even for beginner or intermediate recorder ensembles. The composition's form is ABACD spending a lot of time in the upper registers which may require careful playing.
At a Georgia Campmeeting was published by
F. A. Mills, New York, USA.
A tempo of 90 crotchets/min. is suggested.
