"Highstreet-Dixie" is a very light-hearted piece and was/is a great favourite with the Alt-Aumund Blockflötenensemble. The first and second voices are close together both maintaining the theme whilst the tenor does its own thing. Glissandi are sprinkled throughout the work showing that it was not intended for beginners, as also the many calls on high C's and F's requiring a very disciplined approach. The whole thing is finished off with a surprise effect, namely that of a spoken or sung "Tsch" in unison on the very last note.
