Eatin' Time is a jolly composition well in accord with the characters a-feastin' and a-dancin' on the front cover of the original sheet music. It is a straight forward rag in ABAC form. This recorder adaptation is evenly balanced in that all voices are fully occupied and even the tenor, top voice of the rhythm section, occasionally strays out of its usual range, c to a, to the upper registers.
A tempo of 84 crotchets/min. is suggested.
