According to the Internet source given below, Francisco de la Torre was employed as a singer in the court chapel of Ferdinand II of Aragon, later serving as an assistant priest at Seville Cathedral, where he was briefly Master of the Choristers.
Torre left a setting of the Office for the Dead, a handful of villancicos and a number of dance pieces. These last include a three-part alta using the Spagna bass, a popular melody frequently used at the time as a cantus firmus.
