Helmut Sadler  (1921-)

According to the Internet source given below, Helmut Sadler was born in 1921 in Streitfort, Transylvania in Romania and was educated in Scharosch, Elisabethstadt and Sibiu. Prior to 1939 he worked as a primary school teacher in Hamruden for two years. After military service and captivity he studied music at the Kirchenmusikalisches Institut in Erlangen. He studied composition under Hans Roessert in Bamberg. From 1947 to 1952 Helmut Sadler studied at the Musikhochschule in Heidelberg.
Helmut Sadler was a freelance composer and taught music at the Mannheim Bach Gymnasium. He also lectured at the Fröbel Seminar in Mannheim, at the Municipal Music and Singing School in Heidelberg, where he was also deputy director.
From 1963 to 1977 Helmut Sadler was instrumental and instrumental teacher at the College of Education in Heidelberg. Later in 1977 he was appointed lecturer in composition and music theory at the Musikhochschule Heidelberg-Mannheim. He became a professor in 1980.
