Joseph Parry was, according to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, the Welsh composer of hymn-tune "Aberystwyth" (sung to "Jesu, lover of my soul") and other hymns; also of operas, oratorios, orchestral works etc. Became professor at Aberystwyth.
