All that can presently (January 2025) be gleaned from sheet music covers and by Internet searching is that
James C. McCabe was presumably an American arranger, composer and publisher in the ragtime era.
A prolific arranger, he also composed 10 works, which were published between 1899 and 1927, using the pseudonym
Emmet Balfmoor.
Of ragtime interest is
A Cake Walk in Old Madrid (1900) published by
Enterprise Music, New York, USA.
Surfers are welcome to contribute any further information about this composer.
Many thanks to Surfer Al Christians for pointing out the fact that Emmet Balfmoor was a pseudonym. This webpage replaces that former Balfmoor page.
