Maurice Levi

Very little is known about Maurice Levi who wrote for Broadway shows including those for the Rogers Brothers productions of 1900, 1901 and 1902 In Central Park, In Washington and In Harvard respectively. He also wrote for the famous Ziegfeld revues of 1908, 1909 and 1911. Of ragtime interest is the much syncopated Ethiopean Mardi Gras (1899). On the covers of some of his sheet music he is shown as a dapper, splendidly moustachioed band leader.
