Maki Ishii  (1936-2003)

According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Maki Ishii is a Japanese composer, brother of Kau Ishii (b. 1921), who studied in West Berlin, and later took up residence there. Some works have Japanese titles ("Kyo-So" for percussion groups and orchestra, "Lan Sen II" for cello solo); some use Japanese instruments ("Nucleus" for biwa, harp, shakuhachi and flute).
