Bertold Hummel  (1925-2002)

According to the Internet source given below, Bertold Hummel was a German composer born in Hüfingen (Baden). He studied composition with Harald Genzmer and cello with Atis Teichmanis at the Music College Freiburg i. Breisgau in the years between 1947 and 1954. Thereafter he underwent concert tours as a composer and cellist, was a choirmaster and freelanced in radio with the Südwestfunk Baden-Baden.
Bertold Hummel taught composition at the Würzburg State Conservatory eventually becoming a professor in 1974. The winner of a number of musical distinctions he travelled widely as guest lecturer in Europe, in the USA, South America, Canada, Japan, Australia, Egypt and South Africa.
