According to programme notes from the programme of a recital by Simon Feather (recorder) and Andy Spiceley (piano) on 23rd March 2001 in St Michael's Church, Warfield, England, Edward Gregson is one of Britain's most versatile composers, whose music has been performed, broadcast, and recorded world-wide. He is most well known for his brass compositions, and has written orchestral, chamber, instrumental and choral music as well as music for theatre, film and television, and has been principal of the Royal Northern College of Music since 1996.
