Dan H. Caslar (1888-1959)

Overview

Dan H. Caslar is another shadowy ragtime era composer of which nothing is known other that that which can be gleaned from the sheet music covers of barely a handful of his published works. Perhaps his most widely circulated piece is Honey Bunch (1915) which was published by Harry von Tilzer both as an instrumental and as a song, the lyrics being by Andrew B. Sterling.

Since writing the above some 20 years ago, it turns out, according to the Internet source given below, that Caslar was an Italian composer. He worked on several film scores and developed a reputation as a jazz composer
