According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Henry Carey was an English composer (also poet and playwright); wrote words and music of "Chrononhotonthlogos" (burlesque of pompous tragedy) and other stage pieces including "True Blue"; also composed cantatas and songs. Wrote words and a tunes (not the best-known one) of "Sally in our alley".
Henry Carey also has an Air published in Aus Alt-England: Old English Airs and Dances
