According to The New Penguin Dictionary of Music, Leonard Bernstein is an American composer who also appears (sometimes simultaneously) as pianist and conductor; pupil of Piston and others; conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, 1958. Works include symphonies, opera, musicals, songs, chamber music, church music.
Of ragtime interest is his humorous The Wrong Note Rag (1953) published by Rice Music Co, New York, USA.
