Hubert T. Bauersachs  (1882-1964)
Last updated: 01.02.24
According to the Internet source given below, Hubert Bauersachs was an American, violin virtuoso, pianist, transcriber, composer and publisher. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He was classically trained receiving violin instruction from Dr. J. P. Nemours and Signor Guido Parisi. The Hungarian violinist and composerEdouard Reményi is said to have prophesied he would rank amongst the greatest violinists after hearing him play. He was likened to the legendary Paganini on account of his style that many held to be identical. He also studied under the Hungarian pianist and composer, Paul Mori, and Louis Conrath, pianist and composer. Ernst Krohn is said to described Bauersachs as a brilliant violinist and an active composer and publisher of violin music throughout the first part of the 20th century. His compositions include waltzes, gavottes, and other romantic pieces. Of ragtime interest are, and may it be said completely out-of-character, his The Melrose Rag (1922) and Deuces Wild Rag (1922).
