Publisher's blurb: "The English Concertina was patented in 1829. Yet no satisfactory tutor for this rousing instrument has ever been published. This clearly written method fills the gap at last. With the aid of diagrams and an easy-to-follow text.
Roger Watson, an outstanding player and teacher of the instrument, has now remedied the lack of a first class tutor. For the first time, he has written a method which clearly explains to the absolute beginner everthing he needs to know to become a competent performer."
My comments:
As the blurb says, this is a practical book and I can well recommend it. On the strength of this book I felt encouraged to make simple repairs to my concertina. The easy folk tunes given are "The British Grenadiers", "The Man in the Moon", "The Week Before Easter", "The Dorset Four-Hand Reel", "Landlord Fill the Flowing Bowl", "Planxty Irwin", John Barleycorn, "Adieu, Sweet Lovely Nancy", "Off She Goes" and "Lord Franklin".
